Stacey Abrams Called Out Over Spending Hundreds Of Thousands On Private Security, While Calling To Defund Police

In yet another example of Democrats and their extravagant spending, Stacey Abrams has been called out for her exorbitant costs when she hired a private security firm over a four-month period, which managed to out-spend the members of the “squad” and their security costs over an entire year.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, Abrams’ Republican counterpart, blasted her after the costs of her private security detail were made public.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Kemp said, “Despite being the faces of the far-left movement demonizing police across the country, even the Squad falls short of Stacey Abrams’ double standard,”

“Abrams champions – and continues to profit from – the ‘Defund the Police’ movement, while also paying more than her liberal pals in Congress for private security,” he added. “Abrams’ dangerous agenda and outrageous hypocrisy put herself ahead of the safety and security of Georgia families.”

Between December 2021 and April 2022, Abrams spent over $450,000 on an Atlanta-based private security firm called Executive Protection Agencies (EPA Security), despite holding no office – this was $125,000 more than what members of the “squad” Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO)., Rep Ilhan Omar (D-MINN)., Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)., Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MICH) and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MASS) spent over the entire year of 2021 combined.

Reviewed by Fox News Digital, records from the Federal Election Commission found that combined, the “squad spent around $325,000 on private security over that year, with Cori Bush spending the most at $200,000.

AOC spent around $75,000, Omar spent around $30,000, Pressley came in at $14,000, Bowman cost $7,800 and Tlaib spent the least at only $3000 for the entire year.

In only the first quarter of the year, Cori Bush spent an additional $70,000, but still well below what Abrams blew in four months on security.

The irony is that Abrams has been pushing the narrative that police should be defunded, as is the belief of her Democrat squad members – yet they spend hundreds of thousands of American taxpayer dollars for their own security – while pushing that Americans should also no longer be able to bear arms.

Abrams is also a board member for a Seattle-based grant making organization called the Marguerite Casey Foundation, that has also called for police to be abolished completely.

So according to the actions of Abrams, only those who can afford security should receive security – poor people are not worthy enough to receive the protection they need.

Abrams also claimed in 2020 that police departments needed to be “reformed” and go through a “transformation.”

Kemp took the opportunity to slam Abram’s “hypocrisy” over her spending on security, while supporting groups that want to “defund police.”

Press Secretary for the Kemp Campaign Tate Mitchell said, “Stacey Abrams’ jaw-dropping hypocrisy knows no limits. While she tries to run from her record of supporting – and profiting from – the Defund the Police movement, Governor Kemp will continue to stand with the men and women in law enforcement that keep our communities safe.”

Governor Kemp has also called for Abrams to hand in her resignation from the foundation’s board, accusing her of being “out-of-touch with Georgians,” regarding law enforcement and well over 100 Georgia sheriffs joined in with Kemp to call out Abrams.
