Michigan Gov. Whitmer Stripped Of Emergency Powers After Lockdown Abuses

Michigan suffered among the worst pandemic upheaval and infections in the nation, largely due to the failed leadership of Governor Gretchen Whitmer. The Democrat governor was among the first to politicize the spread of the sometimes deadly virus after a brief, unproductive meeting with former President Donald Trump.

“Failing Michigan Governor must work harder and be much more proactive,” Mr. Trump stated. “We are pushing her to get the job done. I stand with Michigan!”

The former Republican president’s remarks came after he engaged with the country’s governors to develop a coordinated plan to slow the spread. The Obama administration left the country’s mask supplies dangerously depleted and private-sector hand sanitizer supplies were grossly inadequate. Mr. Trump made it abundantly clear he would pivot and bring all the powers of his office to bear to produce necessary protective gear. But each state was tasked with digging deep as well. Rather than work with the White House, the divisive Democrat scheduled appearances on left-wing political talk shows to undermine the Trump Administration.

“The federal government did not take this seriously early enough,” Whitmer reportedly said on MSNBC. “To hear the leader of the federal government tells us to work around the federal government because it’s too slow is kind of mind-boggling.”

That was the jumping point of the failed Democrat’s handling of the crisis. She implemented Draconian lockdowns that led to increased substance abuse addiction and spiked suicide rates. Among her most disgraceful actions was to target a 77-year-old small barbershop owner who was denied unemployment benefits and ordered to lose his livelihood.

Barber Karl Manke fought and won a lengthy court battle over Whitmer, who then abused her powers to strip his license. In a contest that resembled David against Goliath, Manke emerged as a defiant hero in Michigan’s struggle against an oppressive governor who propped herself up as a dictator.

Throughout the pandemic, Whitmer ignored scientific evidence to the detriment of residents and small businesses. The GOP-controlled state legislature repeatedly ordered her to cease and desist governmental overreach and cited her for breaking the law. A recent Unlock Michigan petition motivated lawmakers to repeal the Emergency Powers Act of 1945 that provided governors wide latitude to act unilaterally. After the way Whitmer abused citizens, destroyed lives, and damaged the economy, more than a half-million people signed the anti-Whitmer petition.

“Our Unlock Michigan citizen army collected over 540,000 signatures in just 80 days. Now, 292 days later, we’ll complete our mission with a final vote in the Legislature to end Gov. Whitmer’s rule by decree,” Unlock Michigan spokesman Fred Wszolek reportedly said. “Next, we’ll turn our attention to the public health law Whitmer abused to destroy lives, businesses, and futures. Don’t bet against our success there either.”

Although state lawmakers recognize the importance of an agile executive branch, the World War II-era law was ripe for misuse by radical Democrats such as Whitmer. Michigan House Speaker Jason Wentworth went on the record indicating that Whitmer abused her powers and unnecessarily harmed everyday people.

“Far too much” of residents’ hardship “came from their own government leaders,” Wentworth reportedly stated. “That’s why we had their back today and put this petition into law.”

    1. So true and I love the reference in this article that was made about the barber being David fighting Goliath because there’s a lot of that going around! God’s got this! People are waking up to His power and freeing themselves and generations to come!

    1. I agree with you that she should go, just for the points mentioned.
And let me point out how political correctness can back-fire when you push your own credibility to back someone because you want to be like everyone else and you back a nincompoop.
I can think of three off the top of my head.

  2. If the people have the authority to remove her then why don’t we the people have the authority to impeach the idiot that is in our White House????

    1. Rich, just a bare five Members are the “Dem-Edge” that give Mistress [aka Madam] Pelosi her All-Powerful Platform… The almost evenly divided House, with the LEFT in control, will never pass an Article of Impeachment against Bogus Joe; so the Senate (also thinly split, because the Dominion of Darkness stole the seat from John James, who actually won it) will never have the chance to hear the legal evidence to have him out. But then, many in the DEM party DON’T WANT Kammie [her mom pronounced it “Commie”] IN ANY CASE!!! So — until Mike Lindell gets all the experts to S.D. to see his evidence, August 10-12, we’re stuck with the Mess the Dems have made of EVERYTHING!
