Former President Donald Trump issued a statement Wednesday attacking President Joe Biden, using a creative comparison with former President Jimmy Carter.
“I see that everybody is comparing Joe Biden to Jimmy Carter. It would seem to me that is very unfair to Jimmy Carter. Jimmy mishandled crisis after crisis, but Biden has CREATED crisis after crisis,” Trump wrote.
“First there was the Biden Border Crisis (that he refuses to call a Crisis), then the Biden Economic Crisis, then the Biden Israel Crisis, and now the Biden Gas Crisis. Joe Biden has had the worst start of any president in United States history, and someday, they will compare future disasters to the Biden Administration—but no, Jimmy was better!” he added.
The issue of creating crisis after crisis is accurate. Despite Trump’s difficulties with the COVID-19 pandemic, he left a strong border and economy. Week one of Biden’s leadership sought to dismantle Trump’s achievements. We’ve been paying for it ever since.
First, Biden ended Trump’s border wall and most deportations through executive actions. How did that work out? We’ve had nearly a half million illegal immigrants already cross our southern border. More than 20,000 unaccompanied minors have been taken into Border Patrol custody.
Economy? Before the pandemic, Trump’s job focus had the nation rocking. Even by the time Biden took office, unemployment was in the six percent range, better than much of the Obama administration.
Now there’s the gas crisis. If Trump had been in office, the media would have made the shortage a national crisis. But keep in mind, the issue is IF it had happened under Trump. The fact is, it didn’t. Whatever he did, our nation had no successful pipeline attacks.
There wasn’t war breaking out in Israel either. Hamas knew Israel had strong U.S. support under Trump. Not now. Biden just calls and basically says, “Good luck and may the Force be with you.”
But at least he called. Many times, he has been a no-show, leaving Vice President Kamala Harris to run the show. She has even been put in charge of the immigration response, though she has been a no-show on this issue as well.
So if Trump’s leadership was so bad, why is Biden the one creating crisis after crisis? The left doesn’t have an answer. Instead, it’s off to the next racism attack or calling Americans domestic terrorists. We even have Maryland’s state court banning employees from wearing clothing that supports the police.
Carter wasn’t the best president according to many historians. He had problems with Iran and other issues that led to a one-term presidency followed by Ronald Reagan.
We don’t have Ronald Reagan here today, but the rest of the plan sounds great. After one term with Biden, can conservatives unite around a conservative leader who will put America first? Whether Trump or another Republican leader, it may be the best response to ending some of the problems Biden and his friends have created.
