Tulsi Gabbard Warns of Dangers of Dem-Created “Domestic Terrorism” Bill

Former Democrat presidential candidate and Representative Tulsi Gabbard is warning of the many dangers of the Democrat-proposed domestic terrorism bill.

In essence, Democratic lawmakers are using the Capitol Hill riot of January 6 to implement a wide range of troubling policies that will implicate the average American. And Rep. Gabbard says the worst is yet to come.

“It’s so dangerous as you guys have been talking about, this is an issue that all Democrats, Republicans, independents, Libertarians should be extremely concerned about, especially because we don’t have to guess about where this goes or how this ends,” she said.

The Hawaii lawmaker is not the only liberal to openly worry about what would happen to the United States if the government used the event of January 6, 2021, to strip basic civil liberties from every single voter in the nation. Jacobin magazine, which takes pride in pushing far-left viewpoints, has come out against the proposed law, as have progressive lawmakers such as Rep. Rashida Tlaib. Civil liberty organizations rightly note that a law punishing people for embracing a particular point of view could be used against literally anyone.

Democrats are already making it clear that the new law will cast a wide net. Former CIA Director John Brennan has proudly proclaimed that the Biden Administration is set to go after “religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists, even libertarians,” according to Gabbard.

There are literally tens of millions of people who fall in these categories, and a lot of them aren’t even supporters of the former President. Many libertarians, including former Rep. Ron Paul, were open critics of the former president.

“When you have people like former CIA Director John Brennan openly talking about how he’s spoken with or heard from appointees and nominees in the Biden administration who are already starting to look across our country for these types of movements similar to the insurgencies they’ve seen overseas, that in his words, he says make up this unholy alliance of religious extremists, racists, bigots, he lists a few others and at the end, even libertarians,” Gabbard continued.

President Joe Biden has revealed himself to be disturbingly comfortable with authoritarian policies. The Omnibus Counterterrorism Act that he drew up in 1995 was even more authoritarian than the controversial USA Patriot Act. It would have banned donations to government-designated terrorist groups, allowed automatic surveillance of suspected terrorists, permitted law enforcement to automatically detain suspects before trial, and even deport non-citizens accused of terrorism via a “special court.” Furthermore, it would have given law enforcement sweeping surveillance powers that directly contravene Fourth Amendment rights to privacy.

President Biden has never apologized for his swipe at basic civil liberties. Instead, he seems to take pride in his desire to restrict the basic rights of anyone who won’t adhere to a politically correct agenda.

If Democrats want to save face, they should heed Rep. Gabbard’s warnings.
