The Truth About “Western Beauty Standards” (VIDEO)

The culture war pits the radical left against basically everything. In case you haven’t heard, holidays are racist, jobs are racist, academic achievement is racist…you get they idea. They hate everything, and they want to destroy everything we find the least bit pleasing.

One of the many things that has found itself in the Cultural Marxist crosshairs is the beauty industry. Often times, you’ll hear left-wing academics rant that the industry promotes Eurocentric beauty standards upon consumers. Everything from straight hair, blonde curls, and cosmetic makeup has been lumped into this. Apparently, it’s all part of some master scheme to make people of color appear more “white.”

If the only modeling shots you’ve ever seen resemble the featured image we have here, you could be forgiven for buying into this…maybe. Unfortunately, this theory of Eurocentric beauty standards defining what we all think looks healthy and appealing falls apart when you examine the actual facts.

You see, “being beautiful” involves much more than what you hair looks like or what kind of makeup you’re using. As it turns out, various communities of every ethnicity rip each other off all the time — just like with music, movies, and every other form of self-expression.

Here’s the thing — this is totally fine. If nothing else, it’s a testament to how amazing the free market is in bridging the divides between different peoples, and fostering a whole new level of acceptance and admiration. You would think that the left, which claims to care about the acceptance of minorities in western cultures, would celebrate this sort of thing. But once again, we’re reminded that this agenda has never been about erasing bigotry. It’s about promoting a narrative — anything to achieve power and control over other people.

As you’ll see in the video below, “Eurocentric” cultures have borrowed plenty from other communities as well.

Here’s Lauren Southern with the full report.
