Biden, Dems Prioritize Agency Heads Based On Skin Color — Not Job Competence

President Joe Biden appears to be keeping at least one campaign promise. Unfortunately, it will result in wide-reaching federal agencies being run by people who do not possess the necessary skills to lead. In worst-case scenarios, some Democrat-approved nominees are hostile toward working families.

“And when it’s all over, people will take a look and say, I promise you, you’ll see the most diverse Cabinet representative of all folks, Asian Americans, African Americans, Latinos, LGBTQ, across the board,” Biden said.

What Biden did not promise the American people is that his list of “diversity” picks will be competent. A recent Senate hearing proved the Democrat president plans to further divide and weaken the country by playing race-baiting politics instead of engendering decisive leadership.

His early picks included several women of color that fake news outlets such as CNN touted. One of the more controversial and least competent to hold office included Neera Tanden. Pushed as the first South Asian nominee for the Office of Management and Budget, Tanden ranked among the most hostile toward conservative Americans. Her claims to fame involve earning an Ivy League law degree and working as a political hack for the likes of Michael Dukakis, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton. The connection to running the Budget office was something of a mystery. But what her hate-laced attacks on Twitter demonstrated determined animosity toward Republicans, even though she’d be tasked with working across the aisle.

Her tweets included, “a vampire has more heart than Ted Cruz,” comparing Sen. Mitch McConnell to Harry Potter’s Voldemort, and stating that Sen. Susan Collins was “criminally ignorant.” Her nomination had to be withdrawn when even some Democrats refused to approve it. Biden and his advisors put forward a complete list of nominees based on race, gender, and ties to the Obama administration. This sharply contrasts that expertise and vast experience that drove success during the Trump Administration.

Perhaps the greatest setback working families will experience during the Biden presidency involves the underqualified department heads that Democrats managed to push through. New Mexico Rep. Deb Haaland was recently elevated to lead the Department of Interior. In this capacity, the Democrat politician of Native American descent can place American energy companies in a stranglehold. She will hold sway over oil and natural gas exploration on federal lands. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer hailed her appointment as a win for diversity.

“It’s a huge step forward, and now it creates a government that more embodies the full richness and diversity of this country,” Schumer reportedly said.

While racial divisions may be the flavor of the day for Democrats, Haaland’s anti-energy independence stances should have disqualified her from leading the Department of Interior. Schumer acknowledged she plans to impede oil production, which will result in higher gas prices at the pump, expensive heating fuel, and spur inflation.

“What a historic choice. Native Americans have never had a seat at the table, now they do,” Schumer reportedly said. “And she’ll stop the rape of our great federal lands by the oil companies.”

Biden selected Black candidates such as Gen. Lloyd Austin for Secretary of Defense and Linda Thomas-Greenfield for U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations who appear well qualified. But putting race before competence in several other choices will only hurt the country and take money out of your pocket.
