Republican RINO (Republican in name Only) Liz Cheney of Wyoming was just dealt one of the worst political blows of her career – Cheney lost her primary – but now “experts” are saying that the loss was a win and now Cheney is free to pursue the big seat and challenge former President Donald Trump if he declares he is running again in 2024.
Cheney is one of the lead instigators of the bogus January 6 committee and voted to impeach Trump and as a result was booted from her position as the number 3 House Republican.
Cheney is very unpopular among conservative voters and lost her primary election to Trump-endorsed candidate Harriet Hageman, ending Cheney’s three-term stint in Congress.
When the results were announced and Hageman was declared the winner, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to voice his approval.
“Liz Cheney should be ashamed of herself, the way she acted, and her spiteful, sanctimonious words and actions towards others. Now she can finally disappear into the depths of political oblivion where, I am sure, she will be much happier than she is right now. Thank you, WYOMING!”
Republican strategist Alex Patton told Newsweek that the loss is unlikely to slow down Cheney and that she is now a “bonafide leader of the resistance” and her national profile has been raised significantly.
“I don’t know what the future holds for Representative Cheney, but she’s not done,” Patton said. “She’ll collect her profile in courage award, and likely return to the arena swinging.”
Experts are saying that if Cheney is able to maintain her position as an anti-Trump Republican, she will emerge as an alternative to Trump and would position herself for the win.
ABC News asked Cheney in July if she was considering a bid for the White House, Cheney replied that she had not finalized any decisions yet but was open to it “down the road.”
“I’m obviously very focused on my reelection. I’m very focused on the January 6 committee. I’m very focused on my obligations to do the job that I have now,” she said, adding that “The single most important thing is protecting the nation from Donald Trump.”
Too bad America didn’t have anyone to protect it from her neocon father, Dick Cheney – Vice President under George W. Bush and was responsible for the twenty-year war in Afghanistan and Iraq – all while cashing in big on oil stocks.
Another Republican strategist, Jay Townsend, told Newsweek that Cheney’s “courage” in breaking from the party lines, apparently helped Cheney stand out “in the ocean of cowards populating the Republican caucus in Congress,” adding that Cheney’s recent defeat will not matter because “history will someday regard her as one of the greatest heroes of our time.”
“This is very much an anti-Cheney vote within a Republican primary,” Townsend said. “The choice people are making is not about supporting a candidate, it’s opposing a candidate.”
She has made an absolute fool of herself and members of her “Kangaroo J6 Committee”, so why not. Dems are pushing for her to run . . . . and America finally needs a good laugh.
