FINALLY: Anti-Trump RINO Kinzinger Says He’s Not Running for Reelection

Anti-Trump Illinois Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger announced Friday that he will not run for reelection in Congress in 2022. The announcement makes the House member the second of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump who will not be running again.

Trump shared a brief, yet fitting, statement following the announcement that said, “Two down. Eight to go.”

Of course, Kinzinger couldn’t go down without making another swipe in his video announcing his retirement. He was “shocked” at Republicans who couldn’t call out “evil” in their own party and was “proud” of the 10 House Republicans who chose to vote against Trump following January 6th.

But the truth is that Illinois released its newly approved Congressional district map that same morning, and a new district puts Kinzinger and a loyal Trump Republican on the same ballot. 

Chances of Kinzinger winning his own primary in 2022: Nearly zero.

But don’t tell Kinzinger.

Instead of giving up, he’s “retiring” to focus on “bringing the country together.” He even has a new political action committee that is focused on funding anti-Trump Republicans. He may attract some leftist dollars, but he’ll never fool real conservative Americans.

While we appreciate his military service, conservatives are convinced Kinzinger is bad for Congress. Why else would House Speaker Nancy Pelosi choose him for her House select committee on January 6th?

There is only one other Republican on the team, and perhaps the only Republican who hates Trump – and America – more than Kinzinger does: Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney.

Kinzinger’s departure signals a win for true American values, but it’s just one small step in the fight to save America. We’ll need more than one seat in the House to flip the power to conservatives. We’ll need at least four and hopefully get more in 2022 to slow down the Left’s radical anti-American agenda.

The anti-Trump Republican’s departure also warns of another concern: Just because a candidate is Republican does not automatically make the person conservative.

Cheney, Kinzinger and a growing list of others in the House and Senate reveal the need to carefully consider more than a leader’s party label for giving full support.

But in Kinzinger’s case, he may do something that will hurt the party worse.

Instead of being one anti-Trump Republican, he’s planning to fund several of them in the House. When it comes to the next election, Americans will need to not only pay attention to November, but also to the Republican primaries. We’ll need to weed out those following the Left’s money and help those truly in the battle to rescue the country from Joe Biden’s radicalism.

If not, we may be in for far worse than a few RINO House members. We could eventually find ourselves in a two party system that mostly supports the Left’s values, giving conservative Americans no real candidates to support.

We’re already heading down that track.

It’s time to take back the power of the GOP and focus on leaders who want to truly ‘Make America Great Again.’
