With the new emergence of the omicron variant of the covid-19 virus, governments are scrambling to use this opportunity to impose further restrictions on the lives of their citizens, by hook or by crook.
Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, announced that every person arriving into the UK has to self isolate until they can produce a negative PCR test, those who come into contact with infected people, also need to self isolate and masks are compulsory on public transport for over 18s.
The PM said: “I very much hope that we will find that we continue to be in a strong position and we can lift these measures again, but right now this is the responsible course of action to slow down the seeding and the spread of this new variant and to maximise our defences so that we protect the gains we’ve worked for so hard.”
Because of the upcoming festivities, the UK government wanted to launch a Christmas campaign, aimed at students called “Don’t take COVID home for Christmas.”
However, leftist bureaucrats in the UK, are coming after Christmas, and this idea was quickly snubbed out when bosses pointed out that the reference may offend minority groups and upset non Christians.
“We have been advised by Cabinet Office that we should not use the word Christmas – as the Government campaign needs to be inclusive and some religions don’t celebrate Christmas,” an email seen by The Mail on Sunday read. “The other option was ‘festive season’ which keeps the emotional motivation.”
Ultimately, no doubt after hours and hours of deliberation, they decided that ‘holidays’ should be used instead, but then immediately another official pointed out it was too ‘Americanized.’
The energy needed to keep up with such mental gymnastics, must be exhausting and it’s fair to say that non Christian countries would probably never ever consider changing one of their religious holidays to cater to Christian traditions.
Even non Christians themselves are calling foul on the language change, with Conservative MP, Saqib Bhatti calling out the government for pandering to those who love to be offended.
“As a Muslim, I find it ridiculous we can’t enjoy this special time of year. I look forward to showing my new son his first Christmas tree. The idea you can’t mention Christmas is completely ridiculous,” Bhatti said.
“I’m proud of that and proud to celebrate Christmas. The Blob needs to stop waging war on Christmas and get on with delivering for the British people,” he added.
This is not the first time that traditional holidays have been tweaked to suit minority groups and non Christians. Easter in the UK has slowly been phased out over the past 15 years in office buildings across London and even sharing ‘hot cross buns’, an Easter favorite in the United Kingdom, was suddenly seen as offensive.
Slowly across the globe, Christian nations are seeing the values that their respective countries were founded on, being eroded by left-wing bureaucrats, who think their ideological beliefs and ‘wokeness’ are far more important than long standing traditions.
Apparently, the left’s ‘war on Christmas’ is nothing more than a right-wing conspiracy theory. But it gets increasingly harder for the left to deny that fact when there are numerous examples of them chipping away at it every year.
It’s the pandering that will lead the west down an irreversible path toward its own downfall. It may not seem like a big deal, but if you give into one thing, it will soon become another and then another.
