Liberals and the fake news media spent 2020 drooling over New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and California Gov. Gavin Newsom. But in 2021, their seemingly mercurial careers imploded.
During the run-up to the 2020 elections, Democrats pushed to have Cuomo replace Joe Biden on the ticket believing he possessed unparalleled leadership skills. The establishment media touted his COVID-19 press conferences as the gold standard in truth and transparency. Hollywood even handed him an Emmy. What everyday people know now is that Cuomo sentenced thousands of our valued elders to cruel and needless deaths in nursing homes. Then, he orchestrated a coverup to avoid investigation.
By executive order, Cuomo forced a reported 365 of 613 nursing homes to receive patients who knowingly had tested positive for COVID-19. His mandates blocked facilities from re-testing infected people. The governor disclosed only 8,500 deaths when at least 15,000 died because of his gross negligence. Despite one of his aides blowing the whistle and true facts emerging, he continues to deny the reality he killed thousands.
“Meanwhile, they were stripping granny out of the COVID ward at the hospital and tossing her in the nursing home (for) just enough time to infect everybody and then go back to the hospital, so the deaths could be re-categorized for politics,” Congressman Matt Gaetz reportedly said of the coverup.
With the FBI probing his deliberate misinformation and secrecy from health agencies such as the CDC, Cuomo’s political career was heading off the cliff. Now that he appears unable to bully people in government, other whistleblowers stepped forward. He has reportedly been sexually harassing women in his administration by asking them to play strip poker in the office and making unwelcome contact.
“As I got up to leave and walk toward an open door, he stepped in front of me and kissed me on the lips. I was in shock, but I kept walking,” former aid Lindsey Boylan reportedly said. “The idea that someone might think I held my high-ranking position because of the Governor’s ‘crush’ on me was more demeaning than the kiss itself.”
On the West Coast, Governor Gavin Newsom faces a profoundly serious recall effort. A petition has already far exceeded the number of signatures required to start the removal process. Newsom failed to take action to curb wildfires in California and refused to implement clear-cutting and reforestation practices that reduce risk in an environmentally responsible fashion. His sanctuary cities policies forced citizens to pay billions in funding the lifestyles of illegal immigrants. Major cities such as San Francisco and Los Angeles now suffer the highest rates of homelessness. He’s driven the “Golden State” into the ground.
As if adding insult to injury for the forced closures of businesses, Newsom recently posted a video of himself with celebrity George Lopez inside a restaurant he ordered closed. His “rules for thee but not for me” attitude infuriates voters.
It’s almost ironic that less than one year ago, Cuomo and Newsom were considered messiahs of the Democratic Party. These days, they couldn’t get elected as dog catchers.
