During the run-up to the 2020 elections, perhaps no candidate in history personified liberal stupidity better than New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). But in a race to the bottom of the IQ scale, Kamala Harris won the gold. That is to say, the gold standard of stupidity.
“Harris’s numbers aren’t as good as Biden’s. She hasn’t shown herself to be particularly adept on the trail, in the public eye,” GOP strategist Keith Naughton reportedly said. “She just doesn’t seem to have very good instincts.”
In recent remarks, Harris defended her party’s attack on voter integrity laws being passed in Republican-majority states. The left has consistently advocated for people casting ballots not to have to identify themselves or even show proof of citizenship. After the uncertainty of the 2020 presidential election that still has municipalities such as Maricopa County, Arizona, conducting audits, Harris was quick to respond. On a BET interview, Harris basically called Americans who live in rural communities dumb hicks.
“Because in some people’s mind, that means well, you’re going to have to Xerox or photocopy your ID to send it in to prove you are who you are. Well, there are a whole lot of people, especially people who live in rural communities, who don’t… there’s no Kinkos, there’s no OfficeMax near them,” Harris reportedly said. “Of course, people have to prove who they are, but not in a way that makes it almost impossible for them to prove who they are.”
To say social media blew up with everyday people furious over Harris’ insult would be something of an understatement. High-profile GOP politicians such as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz couldn’t resist Twitter sarcasm.
“Cause, you know, country folks don’t have electricity, much less access to copiers or smart phones,” Sen. Ted Cruz tweeted. “They’re too busy running moonshine & sliding on the hoods of their cars.”
Harris, a San Francisco Democrat with elitists sensibilities, completely misses the mark on voter I.D. People on both sides of the aisle want free, fair elections without the controversy of court challenges running on for months. Even if her instincts are terrible, polling data shows an overwhelming majority of Americans favor voter I.D.
Of course, it stands to reason that Harris has not been to the heartland, just like she explained in a nationally-televised interview when asked about visiting the U.S. southern border. “I haven’t been to Europe,” she flippantly replied when asked about the unprecedented humanitarian crisis at the border.
Taking one extremist liberal view that defies reality remains a common Democrat platform. But Harris has managed to alienate even the very voters she appears to be courting.
While avoiding the U.S.-Mexico border and, instead, taking meetings and vacation time in Guatemala, Harris told migrants to stay away from the U.S. With open borders advocates steaming, she then angered working families. The number two in the White House advocated for American businesses to relocate to the “Northern Triangle,” rather than grow the U.S. economy and increase job opportunities.
Disgraced ex-President Bill Clinton used to speak out both sides of his mouth to appease voters. Kamala Harris says stuff to infuriate everyone. With all due respect to AOC, you’re no longer the gold standard of Democrat stupidity.
