The Taliban began door-to-door gun confiscations even before the last American plane fled Kabul airport. Taking away the civilian population’s self-defense capabilities was their first order of business and one that mirrors what the Democratic Party seeks in the U.S.
It may seem impossible, but the agendas of American Democrats and the totalitarian Islamic militants are precisely the same. Both want to centralize all political power and force the masses to do what they are told — or else. And both Democrats and the terrorists who rule over Afghanistan troll out the same lie they are keeping citizens safe by taking away their firearms.
“We understand people kept weapons for personal safety. They can now feel safe,” a Taliban official reportedly said. “We are not here to harm innocent civilians.”
Two decades ago, Joe Biden leveraged his position on the Senate Judiciary Committee to push through what is commonly known as the “1994 assault weapons ban.” That legislation was passed through Congress by Democrats and signed into law by disgraced ex-President Bill Clinton. It effectively took the most widely owned self-defense firearms off the market. And yes, Biden and Clinton lied that they were doing it to keep the country safe.
“Assault weapons — military-style firearms designed to fire rapidly — are a threat to our national security, and we should treat them as such,” Biden reportedly stated. “But we will see only more and deadlier shootings if we continue to dodge the core issue of unregulated assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in our communities. If we cannot rise to meet this moment, it won’t just be a political failure. It will be a moral one. It will mean that we accept the next inevitable tragedy.”
Knowing the left didn’t have the political power to kick down doors like the Taliban, they cut off production. Their long game was to incrementally enact legislation to confiscate legally owned firearms through mechanisms such as red flag laws. With Biden in the White House, his handlers have made no secret of the fact they want to disarm Americans just like the Taliban.
The White House continues to overstep its authority to curb lawful gun ownership at the same time Democrats are trying to implement a federal takeover of elections. These are not separate agendas by any stretch of the imagination. The left wants to seize complete government control, create a one-party system, and dictate every aspect of American life. To complete this Taliban-style takeover, they need to take away the high-capacity firearms citizens possess for self-defense.
“I’ve never been more worried about an attack on the Second Amendment than I am right now,” South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham reportedly said. “One of the things about our Constitution is that we understood early on that if you live in a dictatorship, or in places where the government runs everything, the first thing they take away from you is not just your speech, but your ability to defend yourself. That’s why the Second Amendment exists. The ability to own a gun responsibly is a constitutional right in America, and here’s what I would say: we need that right today, as much as any other time in American history.”
If Democrats prevail in a political takeover, the next phase will be kicking down doors to take away self-defense weapons. After that, they’ll be able to drag dissenters out of their homes just like the Taliban is doing right now. Isn’t it ironic that Democrats and the Taliban have the same policies?
