Illegal Immigration is 3 Times Higher Than When Obama Declared It a “Crisis”

More than 6,000 illegal immigrants are crossing the nation’s southern border each day, a rate three times higher than the number that former President Barack Obama called a “humanitarian crisis.”

Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson reported the information during a Fox Business interview on Thursday. “We’re apprehending about 6,000 people a day. Six thousand people a day.

“We were doing 2,000 people a day during the humanitarian crisis in 2014, President Obama declared that a humanitarian crisis. We are three times that level.

“The fiscal cost will be in the billions. The human toll will be even higher.”

Fox host Maria Bartiromo reported that “453,000 migrants illegally entered the country between February and April.”

Johnson is one of many GOP voices addressing the immigration issue along the nation’s southern border. South Dakota Republican Gov. Kristi Noem, along with 19 other GOP governors, sent a letter earlier in May to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris urging them to take immediate action to address the immigration crisis along the nation’s southern border.

Of course, neither Biden nor Harris have visited the border — and neither of them plan to do so.

The Biden administration’s plan seems to be to avoid and ignore problems, acting as if they do not exist. It’s only a problem for conservatives in their mind, not for the left.

However, the border situation is a serious crisis. We’re not just talking numbers, but safety. If the left thinks an open border is more compassionate than a secure border, they need to rethink their strategy. Instead of helping kids and families, their complicit in supporting human trafficking, importing gang members, drug smuggling and thousands of parents sending their kids across an international border without a parent.

How are these actions compassionate? The answer is that they’re not. Our border is in series need of closing.

And in case everyone forgot about the little thing called the COVID-19 pandemic, in contrast, Canada continues to keep the border with our nation closed to all non-essential travel.

Americans can’t visit Canada, but illegal immigrants can walk right into our nation. No coronavirus test, just come on over and make yourself at home.

If health issues are too bad for Americans to visit Canada to the north, we certainly shouldn’t be importing neighbors from the south, especially without significant health protocols.

Our House members are still forced to wear masks, but illegal immigrants don’t even need documents to enter the country. Many Americans are being incentivized to take the COVID-19 vaccine, but where is the incentive for illegal immigrants to legally enter the country?

Nearly half a million illegal immigrants have entered the nation since Biden has taken office. That’s larger than the population of all but the biggest American cities. We’re not only importing neighbors; we’re importing a nation.

But the new nation won’t have the same values as our conservative American beliefs. Will these new immigrants stand for the anthem when many young American athletes won’t? Will they work hard to do what is right after crossing the border wrongly?

Time to declare the border a crisis and shut it down immediately.
