President Joe Biden’s forcible vaccine mandate once again demonstrates that the same rules don’t always apply to everyone. There are a few groups set to proceed “business as usual” as the President has carved out a hypocritical double standard in his new edict. Members of Congress and their employees, federal court system employees, and Post Office employees are exempted from the new requirements.
The Biden Administration has not given much of an explanation for this. The American Postal Workers Union criticized the President’s move to make vaccines mandatory for federal workers a few months ago. The APWU, like many other unions throughout the nation, endorsed President Biden in 2020. The president will certainly need their support in 2024 with Biden struggling in the polls now.
There is also the glaring fact that postal workers are the ones responsible for transporting mail-in ballots to and from postal centers. Obviously, Democrats would not want to anger these “essential” workers even though they come in contact with members of the public on a very regular basis.
The reasoning given for exempting members of Congress and the judiciary is even more mysterious. President Biden says he only has authority over the executive branch, not the judiciary and legislative branches. Even so, he has no problem overstepping his authority to force private companies to impose vaccine mandates on their employees.
When House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi was asked about a potential vaccine mandate for Congress, she hypocritically told journalists that “it’s a matter of privacy” and that “we cannot require someone to be vaccinated.” Naturally, she has no problem with the President’s new vaccine mandates on others.
President Biden’s attempt to impose mandatory vaccination on the nation runs afoul of the Constitution and the basic rights granted therein. The administration has shown its blatant disregard for the people it’s meant to serve by exempting special interests from the new mandate while forcing it upon others who perhaps don’t have as much to offer the Democrat Party.
The move, as many conservative pundits have rightly pointed out, will wreak havoc on the nation as people lose their jobs and worker shortages increase as employers are unable to find others willing to be forced into what is effectively an experimental treatment.
