After a disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal that abandoned hundreds of Americans behind enemy lines, the Biden Administration continues its wrong-headed foreign policy. Surrounded by Obama-era flunkies, Joe Biden’s handlers remain laser-focused on low-threat al-Qaeda operatives while ISIS-K increases its power. Unfortunately, it appears Joe Biden still believes the worst error in judgment made by his former boss, that ISIS is a “JV Team.” Nothing was more wrong then or further from the truth today.
The administration’s woke generals recently carried out a drone strike, killing senior al-Qaeda leader Abdul Hamid al-Mata. Claiming no civilian casualties, U.S. Army Maj. John Rigsbee, a CENTCOM spokesperson, went on the record indicating this was an important national security operation.
“Al-Qaeda continues to present a threat to America and our allies. Al-Qaeda uses Syria as a safe haven to rebuild, coordinate with external affiliates, and plan external operations. Al-Qaeda also uses Syria as a base for threats reaching into Syria, Iraq, and beyond,” Rigsbee reportedly stated.
It’s difficult to take the spokesman at his word, given the hand-picked military leaders slaughtered an aid worker and his family and then claimed the drone strike killed an ISIS-K mastermind. The White House hid these facts and only came clean after investigative journalists proved Joe Biden and his mouthpieces were lying. And after Biden vowed to make ISIS-K “pay,” the terror organization carries out suicide bombings with impunity as its ranks swell. Biden appears as disconnected from the boots-on-the-ground reality as Obama.
“They were struggling to deal with the human remains scattered throughout the backyard of the mosque. They expect the death toll to further climb in further hours because they say many people who were injured are in critical condition,” Al Jazeera reporter Hashem Ahelbarra reportedly stated. “(The recent attack by ISIS-K) could be a clear indication that they are sending a message to the international community that they are far from defeated, that they are willing to further expand their footprint across Afghanistan, and we are likely to see major confrontation in the future between (ISIS-K) and the Taliban.”
The White House seems to be targeting easy-to-locate al-Qaeda leaders in an effort to distract from the real problem. Joe Biden failed to leave a military or intelligence footprint in Afghanistan. Due to the ill-conceived withdrawal, national security forces have been left searching for ISIS-K in the dark and without a flashlight.
Meanwhile, ISIS-K has reportedly infiltrated the Taliban army that now governs the region. By contrast, al-Qaeda is largely intertwined with the Taliban and appears focused more on steadying the government than conducting terror ops against America. In recent weeks, ISIS-K created increased instability by implementing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) campaign. The Taliban and civilians are now suffering roadside bomb casualties while Biden fails to shift the U.S. focus to the correct threat.
“(ISIS-K’s) horrific attacks on civilians have not abated since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and appear to be increasing,” Human Rights Watch associate director Patricia Gossman reportedly said.
The Taliban recently assured its citizens, and the international community ISIS-K is not a serious problem. That’s precisely what Obama wanted people to believe right before the Islamic extremist established a brutal caliphate and caused a second war on terror. Joe Biden has not gotten a single foreign policy decision correct, and the administration’s failure to address ISIS-K could prove disastrous.
